The text for this sermon comes from Matthew 16 where Peter confesses that Jesus is the Messiah. The confession was made in a city where there were temples to Rome as well as to the Greek god Pan. Jesus spoke of the permanence of the church he was bringing. This was a different language than that of Rome and Greek gods who all went away. In an age of mortgage crises, war, etc., this is good news. (19 minutes and 46 seconds) Listen Now! |
